♪ Viva México ... tierra bonita de Dioooos ♫

We are out of the World Cup. Argentina beat us at today's game. Very sad news, but still an amazing game. In terms of game quality, México did better... wish that could help us qualify to the next round.. hehe.. But we played a "cleaner, more organized game," in the words of the Argentinos themselves... and they sure gave our better rival a very nice scare. We scored the first goal during minute 5 of the first half... gave away a goal not long after (and that one should have been taken off because of the 'dangerous game" clause... blind ref also missed a couple other calls.. but it was a goal either way)... they didn't let the Argentinan's break the tie until overtime. And we had control of the ball 85% of the time... The team did very well. By the end of the second half, both sides of the game thought we'd win. We lost (mainly) because of one very big mistake... but I will concentrate on the rest of the game. Very proud of our team. Very much so.
And as Quijote put it, "There's always next time." We have the world's youth championship... beat Brazil just a month or so ago. So just wait a few more years... We'll get them... Muajajajaja.... and I will have my revenge...

That Guardado kid is only 20. Definetly looking forward to see how he does next time around. That Brazilian guy is also pretty dang good. Next time around ;) If the US doesn't make a comeback. muajajaja... yeah I know I'm dreaming... but it's just so much nicer in this little world of delusion... :)

I'm pretty sure the American team will be great in not too many years... they are making amazing progress! Not such a far away dream, I think. They'll make a comeback : ) Just a matter of getting Americans into soccer :-D !

quijotefan83 dijo...

Perhaps someday they'll be selling US jerseys in Mexican malls and Wendy's along with South Korea, Argentina (though probably not Argentina anymore) and Brazil....
nahhhhhhhh, probably not even then.

Wendy's? Like the fast food place?
Did I miss something?

Arely dijo...

Yup. We have Wendy's. We have "Emos" too. Is that how you spell that? The US has taken over on things other than soccer... It's (back to the food)all... uh... Mexicanized... but it's still Wendy's .
Awww.. see? We didn't make you eat jalapeños the whole time :-P !!
Hm... I'm sure if we have Argentina's flag we should have yours already. We've disliked their semi-Europan ego way before the game...

hombre guapo dijo...

That semi-European ego thing. . . it makes me laugh because they know it and are proud of it and also that everyone else makes fun of them for it! Hey - but everyone has something their proud about, right? Viva Mexico!

That last comment did not mean to sound sooo sarcastic.

Viva!!
Lol... well... they forget the entire contient has European blood claims... but well... not all of us are SOOooOOoo crazy about it :-P Some of us like our own country better... hehehe...

Arely dijo...

Aww... pobrecitos. I feel bad now.

Muajajaja... well... maybe not too much... just a little bit.

Uh, "Emos"? Am I missing something?

quijotefan83 dijo...

Really? I think the Argentine complete denial of the fact that they live in the Western Hemisphere is almost a little endearing. "Awww... pobrecitos... claro que eres un pais europeo... si si, pobrecito. Igual como Paris y London... si..." :P Very quixotic of them. Except more funny than noble.

Anónimo dijo...

The Europeans like them so much they declared war on them not long ago..R'D

Yup. depressed teenagers. very sad stuff...

"Emo was originally the abbreviation for a type of music known as 'emotive hardcor'... However, this musical movement died at least 100 years ago and actual emotive hardcore music has since taken a backseat to scenester posturing and no-talent losers in eyeliner. Presently, 'emo' is code for 'g** d*** s***** pop punk music played by and for depressed suburban teens'... The current incarnation of emo has basically replaced all other teenage culture as the dominant one. The slightly faded "vintage" clothing and track suits are available at any mall and often displayed in tandem with the most mainstream wares."

I do hope we're only copying the fashion style...

Sip... Pobrecitos... It IS endearing, though... Crazy stuff, this ego thing... it tends to make people unpopular. I wonder if they've even realized how bad it is for them...
